In the good ‘ole summertime….
Today is the 3rd day of summer, 2016. Best time of the year. Actually, May and June are the best “summer” months. Flowers are brightly blooming, the days are looooong and sunlight is plentiful. The excitement of the end of the school year is still there. Fireflies at night, the smell of blossoms, bbq grills, chlorine, a sparkling blue pool, suntan lotion….ah, my old friend, summertime.

A deer….in here?
I had to go out at 1:00 a.m. last night….part of having grown kids living “on their own”…when pulling out of our residential driveway in a large Midwestern city, I suddenly noticed a baby deer a few feet away from my car. It looked at me and I unrolled the window and gently asked “What are you doing here?”. The baby deer blinked and slowly walked away into a neighbors yard. We have now seen a pheasant in our driveway, a fox, several wild turkey and a deer, in here! Check out this sweet retro plastic deer family for sale in my Etsy shop, “GoatCart”.
Christmas in June……
I love old Christmas things. I can’t get enough. But on days like today, I know that I DO have enough. Here’s a tiny sample of what I’ve picked up recently at estate sales, garage sales, church sales….They call to me and I can’t leave them behind! Lefton angels, Holt Howard Santas, kitschy white plastic reindeer, sleighs with candy cane runners!
